Hieroglyphic Being (Chicago, USA)
Hieroglyphic Being (Jamal Moss) is one of the last of the line of producers directly influenced by Ron Hardy at the Music Box. Also influenced by Sun Ra, John Cage, Stockhaussen, Larry Heard aka MR Fingers, Chris & Coseyand the free jazz & experimental noise visionaries of the past, his musical style has evolved to become something truly unique and out of this world. Encompassing everything from industrial noise to free-form jazz, Hieroglyphic Being’s body of work has consistently proven why he is undoubtedly one of the most interesting electronic musicians to emerge out of recent years.
Hamid Drake (Chicago, USA)
Hamid Drake is widely regarded as one of the best percussionists in improvised music. Incorporating Afro-Cuban, Indian, and African percussion instruments and influence, in addition to using the standard trap set. Drake has collaborated extensively with top free jazz improvisers Peter Brötzmann, Fred Anderson, Ken Vandermark, Don Cherry (trumpeter), Pharoah Sanders, Maalem Mahmoud Gania and bassist William Parker. Anybody who has had the pleasure of experiencing a performance involving Hamid will without hesitation relate that any chance to catch him is by no means something to be missed.
This performance will mark the first time these two Chicago based musicians have met or performed together. Join us as we warmly welcome them to Vancouver to share what is surely to be a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience an out of this world collaboration.

This was followed by a series of six full length albums, including ‘I, Thighpaulsandra’, ‘Double Vulgar’ and the ‘Lepore Extrusion'.
Charles Manier (Ann Arbor, USA)
One of the many faces & arts of Tadd Mulinix (along with James T Cotton/JTC/ Dabrye etc). Charted by artists like VVV, Talking Heads, Severed Heads, CHBB , Charles Manier covers wave territories backed by implicit social theory, the margins of avant-punk peculiarity, and earthy electronic surrealism.
